Summary: Installing ViaDuct for use on a dual boot computer running Windows 95.

ViaDuct 3.X

Symptom:

When running Via Duct on a system with dual-booting capabilities such as Windows 95 and Windows for Workgroups, Via Duct unauthorizes.

Problem:

Via Duct unauthorizing under the two different operating systems is a result of the new authorization algorithm. To get around the problem of Via Duct unauthorizing on a dual-boot system the end-user will need to install Via Duct under each "operating system". Although the end user will have two versions of the same software running on his or her PC the product will stop unauthorizing.

Solution:

To install Via Duct under the two operating systems, the end user will have to do the following:

  1. Start Windows 95.
  2. Install Via Duct into a subdirectory called VTWWIN95.
  3. After Via Duct is successfully installed, register Via Duct with Via Systems.
  4. Reboot the PC this time choose Windows for Workgroups (or the other version of Windows you are dual booting with).
  5. Install Via Duct for Windows into a subdirectory called VTWWFWG.
  6. After Via Duct is successfully installed, register Via Duct with Via Systems.
