Summary: Host program installation failure on D3/NT.
ViaDuct 4.X



Symptom:

When uploading the ViaDuct host programs for D3/NT, The progress monitor shows "Account name: " at approximately 2% of progress.

Problem:

For complete compatibility, the ViaDuct host programs use some obsolete commands in the proc PCINSTALL which is the first step in installing the host programs. These commands are not compatible with new versions of D3/NT.

Solution:

  1. Copy the Install.src file to Install.old


  2. Delete lines 23 - 96. Line 23 is "HCREATE-BFILE PCPROGS 1,1 3,1" Line 96 is "P".


  3. From TCL, create the PCPROGS file manually with "CREATE-FILE PCPROGS 1,1 3,1".


  4. Restart the installation, selecting "Overwrite if already loaded" in the File Transfer>Host Programs dialog box.
